> Competitions These pictures capture the past three year's of competition winners. The Guild awards three prizes each year - 1st prize is the Armada Plate, 2nd prize is the Shepherd's Crook and the Morton Casket is awarded as a prize for originality. The 2005 Competition Challenge was 'Nature's Colour Palette. The 2006 challenge was to take inspiration from two paintings, one by Monet and the other by Lowry. In 2007 our competition theme was 'Hand Bags and Glad Rags'. 2007 - Armada Plate Winner 'Fuchsia' silk scarf 2007 - Shepherd's Crook Winner 'Shimmering Water' bag from hand spun and dyed bamboo fibre 2007 - Morton Casket Winner Patchwork knitted bag 2006 - Armada Plate Winner Two pairs of socks. 2006 - Shepher's Crook Winner A plain weave scarf. Mixed fibre yarns of different thicknesses in the warp give texture.
