Competitions
These pictures capture the past three year's of competition winners. The Guild awards three prizes each year - 1st prize is the Armada Plate, 2nd prize is the Shepherd's Crook and the Morton Casket is awarded as a prize for originality.
The 2005 Competition Challenge was 'Nature's Colour Palette. The 2006 challenge was to take inspiration from two paintings, one by Monet and the other by Lowry. In 2007 our competition theme was 'Hand Bags and Glad Rags'.

A plain weave scarf. Mixed fibre yarns of different thicknesses in the warp give texture. The weft is of fine spun silk.

This little bag, based on the colours and shapes within the Lowry picture, has been woven on a simple peg loom.
